Rochdale’s streets have become a living gallery thanks to the Common Walls Murals, a vibrant series of large-scale artworks bringing colour, culture and creativity to the town centre. Each mural tells its own story, from local heritage to modern expression, transforming familiar walls into bold canvases that invite you to stop, look and think. We spent an afternoon wandering through the trail, admiring the mix of styles and talent on show and, of course, taking a few well-earned refreshment breaks along the way. Our first stop was The Treetop Bar on Baillie Street, where we enjoyed a drink overlooking the buzz of the town below. From there, it was only a short stroll to The Baum, a Rochdale institution and perfect spot to rest and reflect among friends. Our Unforgettable Tokyo Adventure

Tokyo is a city of contrasts - ancient traditions and futuristic technology, serene gardens and bustling streets. Our trip was a whirlwind of these experiences, starting with our stay at the Hotel Vista Tokyo Tsukiji. Our first day was all about exploring the city's iconic landmarks. We took a morning stroll through the beautiful gardens surrounding the Imperial Palace, though we couldn’t venture inside the palace itself. Next, we made the long but worthwhile walk to Tokyo Bay for TeamLab Planets. This interactive digital art museum was a highlight, with mesmerizing light installations and reflective surfaces that made us feel like we were walking through another world. After the art museum, we had a unique dining experience in Tokyo Bay. We stumbled upon a bistro with a special menu for dogs! Forty-five years ago this month, Kraftwerk released Computer World - an album written for a future that didn’t quite exist yet. Sitting inside the O2 Apollo in Manchester last night, watching Ralf Hütter and the band open with Numbers, Computer World, and Computer World 2, it hit me just how much of that imagined future we’re now living in. And how much of it they helped build. I honestly can’t pinpoint the exact moment I first heard Kraftwerk. All I know is that teenage me latched onto their sound instantly - those clean lines, those machine rhythms, that strange mix of warmth and circuitry. So when they announced a UK tour and Manchester was on the list, there was no hesitation. Ticket bought. Calendar cleared. The moment Numbers kicked in and that robotic voice started counting to eight in German, something inside me just lit up.
